But the plain and simple reality in front of me right now is one in which “time off” makes little sense. I am always on, always off, never flipping between the two like a switch on the wall. I don’t know quite what that boundary looks like anymore; it’s just a prosaic memory.
Nowadays, as the author of my own obligations, I enjoy the seamlessness of a space in which living and working cohabitate. Vacation has vacated the premises.
